The Overlook, a strange and impressive hotel overlooking the high mountains of Colorado, was the scene of numerous murders and suicides and seems to have absorbed the evil forces that are beyond all human understanding and occur especially in winter when the hotel closes and remains isolated for the snow. A failed writer, Jack Torrance, his wife Wendy and son Danny for five years, the guardian agrees to all'Overlook winter and it is then that the forces of evil are unleashed with renewed impetus: the family is soon enveloped in a sinister atmosphere.
